Subject: Re: magneto for 2 litre
It is the Scintilla MN4 as pictured in the Lagonda Owners Manual. Not only does it fit the 2L engine perfectly, it is also very practical in that the high tension leads go into two bakelite blocks that come off with one screw. Therefore one does not have to disconnect them which makes replacing the magneto a matter of only a few minutes. It does not matter which way you turn a magneto - it will always produce a spark, it just changes the advance/retard direction. But yes, in case of the Lagonda 2L engine it turns clockwise viewed from the near side of the car.
In case of doubt, mention my name (Hans Eekhoff) to Alan and he'll know.
