Many thanks Brian and Stephen you for your advice. I contacted Wheelwrights but they didn't have what I need, it takes ages for them to restore my old steering wheel and they are very expensive. I therefore looked around in my area and a local garage who have done some very good work on my Lagonda before are now making a new set of arms from the correct spring steel, using a laser cutter; it will be an exact copy of the original, all ready next week and very cheap. I still need the advance/retard lever system though, so if anybody out there has one lying around - please let me know! Meanwhile, as I can now get these spring steel spokes, I can help other people getting their steering wheel problems sorted and I'd be more than happy to do so - just let me know what you need.
