Hi Alec,
My car isn't a 16/80 but the bush is probably the same type of silentbloc bush. Basically two metal tubes (a smaller, bolt diameter, tube within a larger tube) with rubber infill. So the bolt is binding on the inner tube of the bush.
Hope this helps. No doubt someone with 16/80 knowledge can confirm this.
