Subject: Re: copyrights
Dear Peter,

Good point about the possible copyrights. It may be helpful to add some information on the notion 'old'. As a general rule (at least in Europe), copyrights provide for protection for the life of the author of a work and for 70 years after his death. In cases where the author is unknown or is identified by a fictitious name on the work, or in case the work has been published by a company without mentioning an author, the term of protection is 70 years after the work is lawfully made available to the public.
