Subject: Re: V12 history
I did a quick search on the internet with the search terms "Lagonda V12 Devereux" and found this link about the professional life of Stuart Tresilian (who did much of the Lagonda V12 engine design): http://www.designchambers.com/wolfhound/TresilianCV.htm
If you search this text you find for the time 1938/39 that after Lagonda he worked for Templewood "Templewood was an offshoot of High Duty Alloys, itself part of Hawker Siddeley, set up for Tresilian by Devereux. Its brief was to exploit non-aero uses of light alloys. First commercial extrusion in UK of special aluminium alloys."

May be this Devereux (company) has something to do with your W C Devereux (for which names does W C stand for ?)
