Hi Richard. Have a look at the in line fuel filters. Also When I recently removed my fuel sender unit and the fuel reserve control because of a fuel problem, the copper filter around the two inlet pipes that pick's up the fuel (that’s the main and reserve pipes) were so bunged up with crud they look like they had been in a bee hive. I steam cleaned out the gunk and the fuel started to flow! Now my fuel pump ticks a couple of times and that fills the carb. Hope this helps
