Subject: Re: Rare 3.0 litre 2-door saloon, no engine at Bonhams Beaulieu on 8th September
Excuse the late reply but I agree - I think that was an incredible buy even in 2012. It looks to be far from a basket case and particularly with its gearbox still there as most obviously leave with the engine. Does anyone know where it went ? I would have been all over it had I known about it. It is one chassis number away from mine. Mine is 290/67 and this one is 290/66. The engines were also just one number apart. I expect that was just coincidence due to the two engines having been grabbed from the production line while the cars were being built. Does make me think that the cars were likely to have been built side by side and I would have loved to buy it. Scared to imagine what multiple of 1725 might be needed to secure it these few years later. Graham.
