Subject: Meadows S4 LG6 oil spray banjo for drive chains.
I've driven some 15,500 miles in my LG6 since purchase in 1997, and shortly after buying it, corrected the camshaft timing and adjusted both camshaft and magneto drive chains. Perhaps I wrongly assumed such substantial, and relatively lightly loaded, chains would not need revisiting for at least 30,000 miles. BUT ... throttle pedal stuck open last week, engine raced, then popped and banged, and wouldn't restart.
On stripping down, I find both chains have too much flop, and have obliterated the outer pipe and almost cut through the inner one. It, or at least mine, has "4110" stamped on the brass, probably a Meadows part number.
Anyone got one of these going spare, or that I could borrow until I get the engine rebuilt next year? Needed urgently as I hope to leave here, en route for this year's Annual Gathering, in the LG6 4th September. I suspect this part remained unaltered from early days, so one from an M45 or LG45 would suit.
