I know of an S4 saloon, chassis number 12269, which according to the Lagonda Club records, was registered on 22/11/1937. The Motor Show was in November and new models would have been displayed at the Motor Show.
Maybe this was a demonstrator run on trade plates and sold off when the LG6 became available.
