Subject: Jackall system My LG45 DHC had three different types of jacks but managed to get a matching set less the mountings. My pump seal was just a black blob of sticky material so major work required. I Googled and found a firm called SVW who advertised spares and a re-building service for Jackall's for MG's but they said they could do mine so I sent both sets down to make a good set out of the eight.That was two years ago, the firm has changed hands, the test rig broke down, they are having problems getting the right bits etc etc. Does anyone know who might be able to overhaul the pump and jacks Peter Weir.

However, I am wary of these jacking systems as they have been known to go down and stay down leaving the driver stranded and very distressed as the car cannot even be towed if the jacks will not come back up! Is it worth talking to the maintenance guys for the ferry company in Oban?
However, I am wary of these jacking systems as they have been known to go down and stay down leaving the driver stranded and very distressed as the car cannot even be towed if the jacks will not come back up! Disappointed

SVW provided the spares for the jackall pump itself but a number of prewar cars have the system although there are number of different types of pumps. I can only say that once you have got the system working it is a very effective system, although I would never get under the car without additional protection if it did fail suddenly.

I transferred the money, and 2 months later, asked where my jacks were. They told me the guy doing the machining was off sick. eventually, after more lies and delays, I got them back. Don't go anywhere near them! Your local independent fork truck repairer will do a better, quicker and cheaper job.

I made the mistake of sending my Wolseley 25Limo Jackalls to SVW. After having them for 4 months, they called and asked for payment, as the repairs were complete. I transferred the money, and 2 months later, asked where my jacks were. They told me the guy doing the machining was off sick. eventually, after more lies and delays, I got them back. Don't go anywhere near them! Your local independent fork truck repairer will do a better, quicker and cheaper job.
