I've just checked the Irish number plate site and it has no record of CZB678 so it would appear that it has either got a new number, been scrapped or been exported

Hummm... So the plot thickens...

Is there a registry of all 55 cars that someone might have compiled over the years?

In the Lagonda V8 club, one Swedish guy did that for all 645 cars that are out there. So you can always consult the Lagonda V8 gallery when something comes up with a car.

Not all cars are in the registry but every time one of the club's member spots one, it gets added.

Here it is: http://www.vassard.dk/lagonda/gallery/

Check it out, I own 13207 and 13422 ( or what's left of that one!).

The Aston Martin Heritage Trust maintains a register of Rapides, it is ongoing work, but there is nothing (yet) like the Danish Wedge site. Maybe one day!

Yes Mark it does include reference to your car, however it does not have much detail of its history. Just numbers and colours etc from the original build sheet, and reference to first owner being a member of Guinness family. If you'd like to provide a brief summary, I'd be happy to make sure the AMHT info is updated. I'll send you an email

Alan, which ones do you have no info on? It would be interesting to compare notes on which cars we know nothing about, to lend weight or otherwise to the repeated statement that "48 cars are known to exist"

I have done a more thorough check and it is 31 Rapides known to exist, 10 unknown plus 5 unknown for over 20 years,
6 scrapped & 3 in a very bad state. total 55.
Sorry but it is not possible to give all the chassis no' details,
which is private to there owners.

I think there are only 7 definite unknowns. And in your scrapped category, do you include the 2 cars known to me that have been converted into something else?

It sounds to me as if Alan and David need to get their heads together a little (more). Smiling

Alan, with respect, an individual chassis number is not data that is private or personal to anyone. However, linking an individual to such data is a private and personal matter, of course. Smiling AMOC / AMHT is able to (and does) make the former available to the public and, indeed, the 'public' part of the Register is available for purchase by non-members. Perhaps the Lagonda Club should consider making a similar provision?

All the best,

Tim
