Subject: Re: Lagonda Rapide 61-64 Wanted In proposing the take off point was 2007, I was referring back to the motorbase website which lists most Rapide auction selling prices since the 90s, and which shows 2006 as the last year when cars sold for 20-30K (e.g. 146 the AML one). 138 certainly was in concours condition some time ago, and for about a decade (88-98) either it or 154 won the Lagonda Class at AMOC concours before certain wedges came on the scene

Subject: Re: Lagonda Rapide 61-64 Wanted In mid 2008 a Lagonda sold for $35 000.- on e-bay. The car was in Florida, Blue as I recall... I missed the auction by 5 minutes... It came with a trunk full of spare parts. Some guy in Indonisia is offering a Lagonda Rapide for sale on the internet...It's a scam. He's using the pictures of that car as it was advertized¸on e-bay in 2008... Francis

In mid 2008 a Lagonda sold for $35 000.- on e-bay. The car was in Florida, Blue as I recall... I missed the auction by 5 minutes... It came with a trunk full of spare parts.

Some guy in Indonisia is offering a Lagonda Rapide for sale on the internet...It's a scam. He's using the pictures of that car as it was advertized¸on e-bay in 2008...

Yes, that's the one David mentioned near the beginning of this thread - it was found somewhere Kissimmee in Florida. By chance, I had been in the town a few months earlier - if only I had known about the car at the time! $35k was strong money if it was in pretty poor condition (which I think was the case).

I am sure we would all be most interested to know more about your car's history in your ownership and before, so any detail you'd be willing to share would be much appreciated, especially as the Aston Martin Heritage Trust is planning an update to the register of cars sometime next year, being produced by Tim C, the registrar. Subject: Re: Lagonda Rapide 61-64 Wanted The Lagonda Rapide was bought new by a company in Cork South of Ireland , the first owners wife is still alive and I have spoke to the family it must have been a great car in the early 60s for Ireland. I spoke to the salesman who sold it new so he was able to fill in a lot of the details,it has had 3 registered owners .It was used in a Walt Disney film in UK late 60s and basically went in to storage in 1973 (fuel crisis) and was only brought out for the odd drive. I bought it about 20 years ago and drove it on and off for about 6 months great fun but i put it away as i had new daughter arriving 4 kids now so I have been busy with family life and haven't driven the car since, its a barn find now all original but needs a full rebuild i also have BMW 633, and have owned NSU 2 stroke like the first audi 80 also a porsche 356, 1952 E93 ford prefect, 1960 ford prefect,Lancia Monte Carlo, 1973 Alfa Junior 2000 about 3 hard top MGAs and 4 soft tops 1500cc and 1600 cc and loads of MGB s hard and soft tops,midget etc .
