Subject: LJ8429 previous history

Dear All,
Can anybody help with the history of our 16/80 LJ8429?
Type: SWS-ST24
Eng no. 2215
Car no. S10466
Timing chest mark: S296 (there is what looks like a faint heart shape below this number).

LJ8429 was first registered in Bournmouth on the 06/10/33.

There is a mention of a Brian Thesby (or Thersby) of Preston 05/12/73 and he may have been a previous owner.

The previous owner to me was a Peter G Towers (deceased) who bought LJ8429 at an auction at Alexandra Palace on the 08/10/75.

LJ8429 was re-bodied as a tourer in 1977 by Cookes of Birmingham.

I bought LJ8429 at a Brightwells auction in October 2008.

This is the only history I have of our car and the only pictures I have are of it as a tourer.

Please if anybody knows anything about our car or has any old archive pictures I would very much like go know.

Incidentally Peter Towers also owned a M45 saloon which he sold to Herb Schofield in 1982 and this car was AEL 30.

Thanks for reading

Best regards
Chris (H81)
