Subject: V12 Saloon Barnfind May 2013

Haven't seen this car mentioned on the forum, but the May 2013 edition of Practical Classics magazine in UK has photographs of a 1938 V12 saloon found in storage on the top floor of a disused warehouse near Manchester. Registration is FYO 385, mileage is 67,253, no chassis detail given. Bodywork is by a coachbuilder, back is razor edge, front is normal Lagonda except wings have various mouldings. Both front and rear doors are forward opening. Only one wheelcase, on driver's side, containing spare wheel. The article describes the car as a Rapide, and mentions that the car is badged as V12 Rapide but no photographs to explain this. Owner is said to be reclusive.

I remember reading about this car at the time in PC. The car is known, and the owner has turned down some high offers for the car.

A shame that yet another fine car is left to moulder, albeit in a dryer enviroment than most, and at a condsiderable height !

The owner has a fair few cars all located at the same premises and is reasonably well off, so not interested in selling.

This car I have been informed is a James Young bodied saloon (18018) FYO 385.
