Subject: Those grease nipples?

The grease nipples either side of the chassis are much larger than those I am familiar with and doing some research I think they are called TAT style nipples.

My question is; what kind if grease gun do I need to buy? I am assuming a "TAT grease gun" but that search on eBay and Google returns some odd results! Grinning

So; what exactly should I look for and are they readily available? I'd like to buy a modern one to use in the garage and perhaps a vintage one to keep with the car's tool kit.

Thanks Rich...

Strangely the V12 has these, for lubricating the fan bearings; a bit old fashioned for the late 30s one would think...but then perhaps Lagondas had a lot in stock and were looking to divest themselves.
Your best bet really is autojumbles, that's where I got mine. Take a nipple with you, then you can be sure you're buying a greasegun with the correct fitting. From memory, autojumblers are awash with greaseguns, so you're likely to buy a good quality one for very little.

Yep, those are the ones David. I've since discovered one can buy an adaptor for any modern grease gun. Back in the 30s it seems one could get a specific greaser like this one...

Those are the same grease nipples as on my MkII Aston. I've a nice original grease gun for it and have a new spare end connector somewhere. Let me know if you're stuck and I'll dig it out for you.

Looking on ebay, I reckon the fat one 3rd up from the bottom and in the middle of this lot will be what you're after: -

There is a more expensive one that will definitely fit here but I would think you'll find something much cheaper.

I hope that helps.
