Subject: Marine engines
Here's an interesting question for the M45 experts. What are the differences between the specifications of a 'marine' and a 'standard' model and are any of the parts interchangeable? The point is not an entirely academic one, since someone is offering me some 'marine' engine parts.

Hi Tim,

Generally none of them will fit a car engine. Hopefully someone else will contradict me!

Colin, you are correct, broadly! I bought an M45 twenty years ago that had a marinised crankcase fitted, (I didn't know better then). While they may look similar an untrained eye I would avoid if you can. regards, Stephen
