Subject: Re: 1954 Tickford Bodied Laginda...
Well, I'm not so sure. The car just does not look 'right' to me and the story doesn't quite chime with the pictures, to my mind.
There are lots of minor bits and bobs missing (exterior and interior trim and under the bonnet). But, more than that, the back end looks as if it's been rebuilt at some time (the rear lights are much later too). The car is said also to have been in storage for many years and the engine, clutch, brakes etc. have been overhauled for £20k recently. But, that's a bit steep for a mechanical re-commissioning of this work alone and, yet, if more has been done why not mention it? The carpets look new and are non-standard. The hood and leather look to be in very good order and yet these things are the first to suffer in long term storage (especially the hood). And, even the paint/trim description does not match the car in the snaps.
I've contacted the vendors for more details. We shall see.
As for being good value, I try not to forget the maxim, when involved in the proposed sale of an asset; 'if you are wondering which one of you in the deal is a fool, it's you!'
