Subject: 2L Thermostat?
Has anybody any ideas as to where I might locate a thermostat suitable for my 1928 2L HC tourer?

Thanks in advance,

John

Hi John,

Please contact me privately to discuss availability. I am M34 in the members' list.

Did you know that putting a thermostat into a 2 Litre rad will STOP overheating? This is because it is in effect a changeover switch which BLOCKS the by-pass when the thermostat is OPEN.

The by-pass along the sides of the radiator provides a low-resistance path compared with the core, particularly if the core is furred up and needs de-scaling. Hence overheating without the by-pass being blocked off when the engine is warm.
