Subject: M45 rep
Hello,

I am building a m45 replica on a m35r chassis with t8 body. When finished I wish to compete in the odd VSCC race and long distance rally.
I was wondering if there are any good mods and tips anyone can shed light on?

I have the choice of a g8, g10 and an Alvis gearbox. I was going to go for the g10 for strength and partly for the syncro.

Also which rear axle ratio do you think I should use?

What do I need to do to the engine for competition?

Was the engine in the m45r further forward than the normal m45 tourer? I will need to make some engine brackets and I have measured the position from our lg6 saloon, is this correct (or a handling advantage)?

Thankyou for your time I will have some more questions later as this project progresses. The last time I had anything to do with the Lagondas was when I was 16 at Elvington. Now 30 I am building my fathers long term (about 40 yrs) project up with him. I have distracted him for the last 15 yrs with my more modern projects, sorry.

Thanks again

Richard
