Pictures of the boot interior, with rather nice condition original carpets, all were given a good clean and hoovering and have responded very well.

The only carpet which has suffered is that covering the parel shelf to the back of the boot, has a large hole in it. So will get this replaced.

Spare wheel cover in place, removed for pictures. A few small surface rust spots near the drainage hole. Quickly disappear when wire brushed and shiny metal appears, thankfully!

Rear Seat Removal - this is in 3 parts.

The centre section on this car, like all the leather work has had the color scheme changed from fawn to white-gold for the customer back in March 1963. This was done with the rear seat kept in place. So had to put my hand between seat back and the side bolsters to break the adhesion from the white connollosing paint first.

The centre section is held in place with 3 clips, and the seat has to be pushed, wiggled and generally moved around until finally the seat is released. The last pile I hope of long dead snails were also removed, hiding behind the seat back...

Side Bolster Removal

The two side bolsters, are held in place with a wood screw to the top, hidden by some fine carpet trim, which comes away easily.

They can then be swung forwards, to expose at the bottom, a piece of aluminum plate, held to the chassis with three screws. I couldn't reach these plates, but will remake when I put the bolsters back into the car, after they have been recolored and repaired as required.

More pictures of leather interior seats...

Also shown are the seat hinges and mechansim and centre bar prior to dismantling and sending off for re-chroming. All with surface rust and light pitting to the surface.

I noted that the front seats were on chrome rail tracks, was this normal or yet another extra for a show car ?

Good work, they look in great condition. What is the debris in the top coner of the rear seat or shouldn't I ask...? 108 only has galvanised seat runners, I noticed yours were chrome when I was poking around - nice touch! Right I'm off to rebuild my seat hinges and post a few photos!

The debris was the last of our old friends, snails yet again, they had munched some of the seat backing foam... I guess they entered the car via the open battery compartment space..

There were none in the boot when I last looked, maybe in the engine bay...

Look forward to seeing your seat hinges back together with seats, they look very good indeed. A lot of work to bring to that standard of finish!
