I think this is much money if you can buy a restored example for 60'000 GBP (see post http://lagondaforum.com/showtopic.php?id=572)

Peter hi

I fully agree with you, and the restored car looks splendid, and doesn't sell

But, if memory serves me correctly, the last example was back in June / July (?) made around 35-38k, which I couldn't understand...

Previous auction:

18th July 2012, Brightwells Auctions Leominster, 1932 3 Litre Saloon

This is the car which was at Beaulieu, see this thread;

The car sold for 30,000 +10% bp, making a total of 33,000 pounds for a smell of past splendor.

Good to see unrestored saloon prices are holding up.

This car and the Brightwells car are one and the same. Has someone had a change of mind?

I too saw this car at Beaulieu. I do hope it stays a saloon, but it looked a daunting project to me.

Dave hi,

You are 100% correct, same car, I missed that!

Original buyer at Brightwells at 38k appears to have defaulted, hence the car offered for a second time and sold for somewhat less.

But, still what a resto bill and work ahead of them...
