Subject: fuell starvation when driving up hill
Hi all,
I have a 1951 2.6 that runs very smootly - on the flat! She has new plugs, points, condesor, petrol pump. However, when going up hill she shows all the signs of fuel starvation. The carbs were overhauled last year.
I noticed that the float were set to different levels in their respective chambers. I 'adjusted' the one that made teh float sit too low, thinking that that was the answer. However, it seems to have made things worse.
It may be related but she only gets started once a week and it takes a good 30 seconds for the pumptop stop 'ticking'. Could it be ther eis a non return valve somewhere taht is not working.
Any suggestions will be gratefully received. She has to be in tip top condition for our daughter's wedding 28/6
Thanks
Richard
