Subject: Rev Counter Markings
Hi, Somewhere (I on sure on this forum) I read an explanation of why the rev counter reads 6, 12, 18, 25 and then up in increments of 500 revs. All to do with the gear ratios and double de-clutching. I have tried every combination of 'rev' and 'counter' in the search facility to no avail. Anyone remember this post? R...

Hi Richard
If I recall correctly, this was an article in the Lagonda club magazine a few years back. I think it was written by Clive Dalton.
Best Regards
Mark

Ah ha, so that's where I saw it. Guess I will have to trawl back through the old mags on-line. Thanks for jogging my memory. Shame there's not a searchable index of the articles for the club magazine on-line. Just hypothesising! ;-)

Hi Richard

Most of the knowledge you need is in the heads of the senior (e.g. elderly) members of the Club. I strongly encourage you to enjoy their company while they are still active, perhaps over a decent bottle of claret or several pints.

We have the Cambridge area dinner next weekend and I will be staying over in the excellent hotel where it is held. I would also suggest you consider attending the Northern Lagonda Dinner which is excellent fun and also a good hotel. In the old days the late James Crocker would play Jazz on a piano in the bar along with the late Herb Schofield and other "interesting" characters. Nowadays, by 11 pm the remaining stalwarts have all retired to their beds.

Enjoy meeting the ones who remain, trawling their knowledge over the bar rather than on-line. We need your company...

Colin

That's fair comment Colin and I fully intend to get involved. Cars, food and a beer - how could I not do so! Unfortunately I'm away on business this coming couple of weeks but hopefully as the weather improves I will get to some pub meets in the south area. Rgds Rich...

Just to complete this thread, I have located the article - The Lagonda Club magazine number 219 Winter 2008/2009 - 2 Litre Rev Counters, Clive Dalton resolves a very common problem.

Very interesting to read and understand the relevance of the graduations.

And yes I will get along to as many meets as possible. Smiling

Regards Rich...
