Subject: Original Handbook?
Hello chaps,

I wonder if this is an original Lagonda handbook? I know that the book was a loose leaf affair but wonder what it would have been provided in? This seems like a leather covered folder with traditional screw fittings. I already have a handbook in a black cardboard cover but assume that is a reproduction. Just wondered if this the original.

That is an LG6 handbook. Seen the advert now, & the index includes "Torsion Bars". But yes, that is an original Lagonda handbook.

I'm not sure about that Rich. I suspect there are more handbooks left than cars. Could be wrong so will be interested to see what more enlightened members think.

David,
I suspect there are indeed more handbooks than cars, at least in so far as LG6s are concerned. My experience derives from looking at adverts like that one, my interest being that I happen to know that the family of the second owner of my car have the original handbook (or perhaps a postwar replacement, as it is stamped "Davies Motors").
Unfortunately it is very tatty with no cover, yet they feel it is worth £100! Sad. I'd say that one advertised is a bit pricey, but then, from the few photos provided, it does appear to be in excellent condition.

Pleased it went to a member so I'm glad I posted it on here. Shame you didn't bid on it first time it was listed, you'd have saved some money Wink

Was it posted second time and more expensive than first time then? Would have gone to 400 GBP to have it!

Yes, it was £175 when I spotted it but it didn't get any bids. It was relisted at the the price you got it for but you're pleased with it and that's the main thing. Grinning
