Car comes from a well known private Cambridge collection.

Whilst clearly the pick of the crop with its special hood and provenance, will it sell at this price ?

Best price to date for a 1950's DB Lagonda has been £150k last year for a superb 3.0 dhc

A nice Pathe film of the car and owner from the period,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbLnVt2DNaM

and it can be found on footage of 1he 1956 Melbourne games etc..

Hi Chaps

I know the person who owns the car and the person who maintains it but have no idea what it was worth.

I was going to ask Prince P about it when he attended an event I was at a couple of years ago but we got onto an even more entertaining subject so I did not have a chance to mention it.

This car delivered Prince Charles to his prep school - take a look at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5CHAQZfs5c.

By the time he was taken to Gordonstoun in 1962 it looks as though Prince P had changed it for a more modern looking Alvis. Take a look at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTAXYr-InW0

I would be curious to know what Prince Charles thought of the Lagonda compared with the Alvis.

Colin

I wonder how H&H came to their estimate, so much higher than precedent. The previous owner seems to have done very well from his choice collection

H & H had no idea what to ask for this car so I have been told, 40 years with the last owner who looked after it very well.

Last year a 3.0 litre dhc was sold for £150,000, which was I thought was good.

There was also a ratty looking 3.0 litre saloon which made £19,000 plus b.p. ..

The previous owner had a wonderful collection - fully agree with that...
