Subject: HOW ABOUT A SECTION FOR LAGONDA HISTORY ? great picture here.
Browsing through a 1904 copy of "The Motor" I came across an interesting article about a race in which this cool looking Lagonda motorbike participated. It was "The International Cup" and the stewards declared the race void after a clean sweep by the French team over all others , helped along by a nail strewn course courtesy of the French fans! Rignold's Lagonda was one of the last to bow out due to punctures.

I would support this - there is an increasing interest in adding to existing knowledge of Lagondas history and to air unanswered questions.
How about a couple to start? - Who knows which 2 Litre open 4 seater Lagonda was given to Dick Seaman for his 21st Birthday and used by him and his mechanics to tow racing MGs to race circuits in UK and on the Continent - can we find a picture of it too?

Can we develope a list of well known people that owned Lagondas?
- Billy Cotton - Band leader and racing driver in mid 1930s,
- Dick Fairey of Fairey Aviation [Fairey Gannett in 1950s] pre 1940
- Duke of Edinburgh in 1950s - taken to Australia for Royal visit, and Lagonda Dealer tour too!
Who can add some more? - Christopher H1

Ralph Richardson owned a V12 drophead
Clark Gable a V12 (Rapide I think)
Gary Cooper I think also owned a V12

Lagondas also appeared in Campion, a 16/80 tourer (see this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campion_(TV_series). Lots of driving time - nice to see.
Also in the Lord Peter Wimsey series - not sure what model.
The Poirot one was a 2 litre LC, I believe.

Now we're onto Lagondas in films, there's a V12 drophead in one of the pre-war series of "Saint" films, starring George Sanders, and an LG45 drophead in "Mrs Miniver", annoyingly displaying a spoof British registration!
