Christian, I think you're being a little harsh - the 5-speed manual was fitted by the factory in Feb 1967 and the car made a respectable showing at the AMOC Mapledurham concours in 2009 soon after the current owners bought it and before it had additional cosmetic work and deep cleaning. I have seen the car on several occasions in current and prior ownership and when just rebuilt by Graham Durber and also have much of its service history pre-2009 from new. When new it also had some albeit tenuous celebrity connections. Please PM me for more detail.

It does look very nice in the photos - maybe I was being a bit harsh.

I find the sellers descriptions very amusing for these kind of cars, they normally start like this; 'Lagonda Rapide L###/R was sold to a Mr John Smith III of the 'such and such' trading company in 1963 after which it passed into the venerable hands of Sgt... who lovingly cherised and daily polished it etc etc.' All written in the style of a historic factual document about a significant artifact.

Any other car and it would be; 'This Lagonda Rapide has been fully restored, comes with a full history and is in excellent conditon etc etc'.

Am I rambling...I'll get my coat.

The vendor's text draws on the Bonhams catalogue entry for 9 May 09 if I recall

Merry Christmas everyones!

This car looks good albeit it's Agean Blue color that is clearly one that must have been in vogue in an other era! Manual tranny is a plus!

Any ideas how much is wanted of the car?

Personally, I think that Aegean Blue is one of the most attractive colours used for these cars (but then I'm biased of course Grinning).
