I still have body from #14090,the Lord Selsdon chassis, sitting in my basement (the body used for Indy and as it raced in the U.S. up till the mid-50s).

I keep wanting mount it on a light weight frame to support the panels for display but can't seem to get my other race car projects wrapped up enough to focus on the display.

It is a pretty unique piece of Lagonda history.

I set the body up on a lightweight tube frame. There are some interesting details on the body. I've also included a photo from a race in Thompson. The car following the Lagonda is a Jaguar Special which was well known in the New England area.

Here are two more images. One from 1950 and the other in 1953. The Road and Track photo is from Thompson. The other was listed as Watkins Glen in 1950 when the car was painted gray. Previously it had been green for Indy. I need to check records to confirm Watkins Glen.

Here's a couple of additional photos. The first is from Linden, New Jersey. I am not certain this was an SCCA sanctioned race but it was an "airport" course which was so poplular in the day.

The other image is from Mt. Auscutney. It was a hillclimb which which was active for many years. I think the SCCA might still have events on the mountain but I am not certain. In New England there were a few hillclimbs and they were popular.

Subject: Hillclimb photos from Mt. Equinox
Mt. Equinox is located near Manchester, VT. John Fitch was driving. I suspect the man in the white suit next to John sitting in the car is Dr. Sabourin. I believe John had FTD for the mountain that day.

The VSCCA still holds an event on the Mt. but, of course, the road is now paved.

I always loved these pictures of the Lagonda Le Mans racing which were from Watkins GLen in 1952. Not too long ago a video showed up on Youtube of this race. If you look closely in the beginning you will spot the Lagonda. "Poison Lil", a Maserati GP car, is leading flowed by the Lagonda and then a Lea Francis.

For now that will be all the images I post. The old Lagonda really had a decent run of racing after Le Mans and Brooklands.
