Yes, David, it does indeed. There are also useful photographs in Arnold's books and the Seaton volume of course. I have also gone back through my collection of brochures, which helps. One in particular sets out the various V12 configurations in some considerable detail via line drawings and text. However, I have yet to find information about a body that appears the same as the one on the ebay car.

I bid £16k and I would save the saloon but he says he has turned down £40k ? I suspect another Le Mans rep will appear in a year or so.

Hi,
Don’t be so sure Smiling
A Le Mans Rep is not a cheap job to do to a good level of craftsmanship and if starting with a 40+ K donor you would surely lose money if doing it for profit! However isn't a running and driving LeMans rep better than a rotting saloon in a lockup? Personally I think so but I do really like Lagonda saloons, especially the 4.5 and V12s, We have Five in the workshop at the moment for various work etc All being preserved as working and driving saloons. Have no fear, Saloons are on the up!
However not as far "up" as this vendor imagines!

Best regards,
Julian

Hi Julian. I agree the car at £40k makes a Le Mans rep unlikely but it makes restoring the saloon a non starter also. I know of another and will decide whats what shortly.

Hi all- have just joined the forum as I noticed there are a lot of questions about this car.

It is mine, being sold on my behalf. I acquired the car as part of a business deal in the late 80's. It was running perfectly, drove well, was MOT'd, and absolutely everything worked. It was run occasionally on a long driveway for about 3 years, to keep everything functional, but in the early 90's events overtook me and it was put into the lockup from which it has just emerged.

To my knowledge it is a totally original car and is as it came out of the factory. Since it recently saw daylight again we have not started it, but the engine turns freely, and amazingly tyres hold air and the brakes work. We also took the decision not to spruce it up for sale, hence it appears way worse in the photos than it actually is. It would scrub up very well, to be honest.

Another car of mine in an adjacent lockup, stored for the same period was also extracted and that runs well after giving it fresh oil, coolant and petrol.

I must say it has been an interesting experience having this car for sale as it has been viewed by a number of people representing an impressive span of knowledge. Several people clearly really know what they are talking about and what they are looking at, but a couple of the "experts" have come up with some staggeringly absurd comments and information.

I do hope the car finds a great home- it was lovely to drive.

Hi Lagonda friends,
the car underwent a long journey from GB to Jülich in Germany Yesterday. The last 100 km was horrible, because it was snowing like hell. Since the car has no winter tires, the seller decided to trailer the car to me. But I think the engine would not have started anyway. The car is in a very original condition, but a full restauration is absolutely neccessary. Once I have the engine out, I will report the story about the engine no. Eckhard Fabricius is a good friend of mine and I guess he is also interested to know where his engine came from.

Welcome, Klaus, and great to hear this car has found an appreciative home. It does look like it hasn't been messed about with, so hopefully that will help your restoration proceed well.
