Subject: Re: Lagonda V12 Saloon on eBay
Hi all- have just joined the forum as I noticed there are a lot of questions about this car.
It is mine, being sold on my behalf. I acquired the car as part of a business deal in the late 80's. It was running perfectly, drove well, was MOT'd, and absolutely everything worked. It was run occasionally on a long driveway for about 3 years, to keep everything functional, but in the early 90's events overtook me and it was put into the lockup from which it has just emerged.
To my knowledge it is a totally original car and is as it came out of the factory. Since it recently saw daylight again we have not started it, but the engine turns freely, and amazingly tyres hold air and the brakes work. We also took the decision not to spruce it up for sale, hence it appears way worse in the photos than it actually is. It would scrub up very well, to be honest.
Another car of mine in an adjacent lockup, stored for the same period was also extracted and that runs well after giving it fresh oil, coolant and petrol.
I must say it has been an interesting experience having this car for sale as it has been viewed by a number of people representing an impressive span of knowledge. Several people clearly really know what they are talking about and what they are looking at, but a couple of the "experts" have come up with some staggeringly absurd comments and information.
I do hope the car finds a great home- it was lovely to drive.
