Subject: LG45 dimensions needed for trailer
A plea to any other LG45 owner.

I am looking to buy a covered trailer and it seems sensible to make sure it is suitable for moving any of my cars. The smaller ones are no problem but the LG45 saloon is going to be a snug fit. At the moment my engine is still out of my car (please don't ask how it's going) so the front is sitting higher than it should and dimensions are therefore inaccurate.

Could someone please measure the front top edge of the bonnet/radiator, I would like to know the height and also the distance from the most forward point. Also the width the the bonnet at that point please.

The trailer is a eco-trailer velocity RS. If anyone has one I would be interested to know what they think of it.

Thanks, and Happy Christmas etc. to all my fellow Lagonda lovers.

David

Hi David,

I think it's a little unclear what you're asking to be measured. A diagram would help. . . .

Yes, sorry if it wasn't clear. I've attached a very rough sketch of the dimensions I am hoping for and am grateful for any help.

Hi David
Re the measurements you’re looking for, I measured ours, and referring to your drawing, I got A=46.5 ins, B=19 ins, C=19.25 ins.
Our LG45 is also an SB1 saloon. I did admire the photos of yours in the Club website gallery. Our chassis number is 12059, only four away from yours. Perhaps they were almost side by side when being built at Staines.
Kind regards and best wishes for 2015, Bill Inglis

Thanks Bill and David.

Bill, it seems quite probable that they were made at the same time doesn't it. Glad you like the photos - it's been a labour of love to restore. Once we have finished the engine rebuild I'm looking forward to actually using it and getting some satisfaction in return!

Best wishes,

David
