I find 35 is more than adequate. More than this, due to the light spread of these lamps, will engender lots of irate flashes from other motorists.

The VSCC website has quite a lot on focusing and halogen bulb matters. The view seems to be that although you get much more light with the halogen if the focus is wrong it won't help a lot, and you just get a brighter light ring to annoy everyone else. I find that with my indifferently focused P100's people coming the other way flash to express irritation, and I tend to illuminate the interiors of cars in front due to the height of the lamps. My solution is to drive mainly in daylight. I've just had DCM in Sheffield resilver the P80's off the 3 litre, they came best recommended from the VSCC forum. Discussion on alternatives to resilvering concluded that there weren't any that worked.
