Subject: Which Steering Wheel?
Quick question about steering wheels if I may?

Looking at images on the internet there appears to be two types of wheel fitted to 16/80s. One I would describe as wire spoked the other as having solid spokes (see below) which is historically correct?

Thanks Rich...

My guess is that the wire spoked one is an aftermarket Bluemels and the flat spoked one is original but I think the spokes in that one should be plated.

IMHO both are correct for say 1933-1935. Perhaps it was customer choice when the order was placed according to fashion. Most bosses accept both types. Or possibly Lagonda owed the supplier of one type of wheel so much that they refused to supply any more until their invoice was paid!

The one on the left is an Ashby wheel - I have one on my 1935 M45, it was specified on the build sheet for the car, so presumably the original owners choice. The pictured one looks like a restoration or reproduction since the rubber rim on the original would by now be quite dull
