Subject: 1949 Lagonda 2.6 Sports Special - Auction
Hi, I thought this may be of interest to the members of this Forum. My late godfathers car is now being sold by his wife. It's a very interesting car, I have enjoyed many trips in this car and have watched it competing in various VSCC events over the years.
The car is being Auctioned by H&H at Duxford on the 14th October 2015. Further details as follows:

1949 2.6 Lagonda 2-seater Sports Special.
Built 1976-1979 from a derelict 1949 dhc Lagonda JDF47 with Vantage engine, into “works standard” sports car.
Raison d’etre of the car: to realise what W.O. Bentley’s last design could have produced as a sports car, (which might have been developed into a winner at Le Mans or Spa in 1949)
Reason for sale, the demise of John Weatheritt.
Presently in the hands of Jonathan Hall at “Hardy Hall Restorations”, Bromyard, Shropshire. Completely roadworthy and available for viewing and demonstration.
Slight defect in paint bubbling otherwise in fine order.
A car unique in the integrity with which the idea was developed.
History of use:
2 seasons of hill-climbs 1981/82, 1983/84 (M.A.C)
Brighton Speed Trials 1982, 1983
Alpine and other touring
