Subject: M45 Clutch Brake
Can anyone point me to a source of information for the clutch brake on an M45a? When I first got the car I don't think it had any effect at all, so it would be nice to get it working properly now the gearbox has been rebuilt.

Page 43 of the M45 Lagonda Instruction Book produced by the Club would be a good place to start ?

Thanks for answering - I ordered the manual yesterday hoping it would contain some information, good to know for sure.

I have been using my M45 recently and still need to get the clutch stop exactly how I like it.

It should be "late and hard" so that when you push down the pedal, the last movement should stop the shafts and thus make for a smooth change up. Mine is not quite right, so I am very interested in this discussion, especially other peoples experiences.

As you say Colin,
Late and hard but it should 'only just' stop the shaft with your foot hard down on the boards and do nothing at any other time.

If you have troubles you may need to change the spring? I often used the inner valve spring from an LG45 or something similar.
